Newton’s 1/r² Limit

A Local Flat
Approximation
of the Scroll

This article is the second of ten analyses in Category B of the Lilborn Universe Comparative Series.

B2 demonstrates why Newton’s inverse-square law is not a universal description of motion, but a local tangent approximation of the Scroll’s flatness near regions where curvature K(x) ≈ 0. Both Newton’s force-based model and Einstein’s spacetime curvature model collapse under the structural reality of the EMF Tension Field Ψ_EMF.

Figure B2 – The classical Newtonian model of gravity, where two masses attract one another with equal and opposite forces diminishing as 1/r². Modern physics rejects this model, yet replaces it with an equally incorrect spacetime formulation. Under the Lilborn Framework, Newton’s 1/r² law is merely a local flat-limit approximation of the EMF Tension Field Ψ_EMF in regions where curvature K(x) ≈ 0.

Newton’s 1/r² Limit
A Local Flat Approximation of the Scroll

Newton’s universal law of gravitation has long been treated as a foundational description of nature. It proposes that masses attract each other with a force that decreases as the square of the distance between them. While this law works moderately well within the Solar System, it fails catastrophically on larger scales. Spiral galaxies, galaxy clusters and cosmological structures refuse to obey a 1/r² force.

The Lilborn Framework reveals why: Newton’s inverse-square law only appears valid within a narrow, locally flat region of the Scroll. In the Solar tangent plane, where K(x) ≈ 0, the geometry of the EMF Ψ_EMF produces a tension gradient that behaves similarly to a 1/r² falloff. But this is not a universal law, it is a coincidental approximation arising from local flatness.

Einstein himself rejected Newton’s model, arguing that gravity is not a force but a curvature of spacetime. Yet Einstein’s replacement collapses for the same reason Newton’s does: both assume a kinetic universe governed by motion, propagation, and causal relationships stretching across a medium. Spacetime has no physical ontology.

Brightness does not propagate along null geodesics. No mass bends a fabric. No metric carries waves. The kinetic assumption is wrong in principle.

Newton was wrong about gravity as a force.

Einstein was wrong about gravity as curvature.

Both were working without the EMF.

Under the Lilborn Field Equation:

    ∇_S² Ψ_EMF + K(x)Ψ_EMF = K₀ρ,

All motion is understood as arising from tension gradients within the EMF Field.

At larger radii in galaxies, the curvature term K(x)Ψ_EMF dominates, sustaining a nearly constant tension gradient:

    g(r) = -dΨ_EMF/dr ≈ constant.

This produces flat rotation curves without invoking invisible matter. It reveals that Newton’s 1/r² behavior was never a universal rule, it was an accidental feature of local geometry.

Newton captured the appearance of dynamics within the Solar tangent region.

He never saw the Scroll itself.

B2 establishes that both Newtonian gravity and Einsteinian spacetime are artifacts of a kinetic worldview that misunderstood the EMF. Ψ_EMF replaces both force and curvature, revealing the true origin of motion as the interaction of mass with structure, not attraction.
