Light, Mass And
The EMF
The electromagnetic field and light do not move. They are not forces or travelers. They are present. But presence alone does not produce visibility, heat or encounter. The encounter only happens when a third participant joins the relationship…mass.
The role of mass (m) is not passive. It is not simply “in the way” of light. It is the catalyst of visibility. It gives the electromagnetic field the structural reason to turn and face light. The electromagnetic field is everywhere, but it is not everywhere aligned. In the vast regions of open space, it lies tangential to the sun, unmoved, invisible. Light is present, but it is unencountered.
The moment mass appears, that changes.
Even a small object, such as an astronaut’s helmet, imposes geometry upon the local field. That geometry causes the electromagnetic field to stand up, to orient itself toward the light. That orientation is the necessary condition for encounter. When the field is aligned, and light is coherent, the triangle is complete.
Light does not “bounce off” the helmet. The helmet’s structure compels the field to face light. And where there is face-to-face structure, there is visibility. There is heat. There is coherence made manifest.
This is not an action. It is not a force. It is not travel. It is structure.
What we have seen is the heart of visibility itself. The triangle is not a metaphor. It is the minimum condition for encounter.
Without mass, light and the field remain silent. With mass, the universe becomes visible.
This is the law of triangular encounter.
