Galactic Rotation Curves
Dark Matter = 0
This article is the first of ten analyses in Category B of the Lilborn Universe Comparative Series.
Category B dismantles the kinetic interpretation of gravitational dynamics and replaces it with the structural reality of the EMF Tension Field Ψ_EMF.
B1 begins with the greatest collapse in the gravitational framework: the end of Dark Matter.

Figure B1 – The standard cosmological “energy budget”, claiming that 27% of the universe is Dark Matter and 68% is Dark Energy. These components were invented to rescue a gravitational model that could not explain galactic rotation curves or large-scale structure. Under the Lilborn Framework, Ψ_EMF provides the full structural cause of rotation, requiring no invisible matter.
Galactic Rotation Curves
Dark Matter = 0
The most persistent failure of the kinetic worldview arises in the rotation curves of spiral galaxies. According to Newtonian gravity, rotational velocity should fall off as distance increases, following an inverse root law. Instead, observations reveal that rotational velocities remain flat far beyond the region occupied by luminous matter.
To preserve Newton’s gravitational model, physicists introduced Dark Matter, an invisible, undetectable and non-baryonic substance said to envelop galaxies in massive halos. This invention now accounts for 27% of the claimed “contents” of the universe, despite the fact that it has never been observed, detected, or produced in any experiment.
Under the Lilborn Universe, this contradiction never arises.
The flatness of galactic rotation curves follows directly from the Lilborn Field Equation:
∇_S² Ψ_EMF + K(x)Ψ_EMF = K₀ρ.
This equation reveals that motion is not governed by an attractive force but by the geometry of the EMF Tension Field interacting with visible mass.
At large radii, the curvature term K(x)Ψ_EMF becomes dominant, producing a nearly constant tension gradient:
g(r) = -dΨ_EMF/dr ≈ constant.
This yields:
v(r) = √(r g(r)) ≈ constant.
Flat rotation curves are not anomalies. They are signatures of curvature.
Dark Matter was never needed. It was a placeholder for a misunderstood EMF.
The universe does not require invisible mass. It requires correct geometry.
The Lilborn Universe provides it.
